Corrections Policy

By Rebecca Torres, RDReviewed 2026-06-01

Home Storage Guide verifies every reported error against the source, fixes it promptly, updates the review date, and logs the correction publicly.

We get things wrong occasionally, and when we do we fix it fast, transparently, and permanently.

How to report an error

Email hello@homestorageguide.com with "correction" in the subject line. Include:

  • The page URL.
  • The exact text you believe is wrong.
  • What you believe it should say, and your source (a link helps).

What happens next

  1. Verify. A member of the editorial team checks the claim against the authoritative source. Numbers must match USDA, FDA, CDC, or a university extension.
  2. Fix. If the report is confirmed, the page is corrected and the Sources section updated.
  3. Re-review. The corrected page is re-reviewed by Rebecca Torres, RD, and the review date on the page is updated.
  4. Log. The correction is recorded in our correction log with the date, the page, the error, and the fix.

When guidance changes

Food-safety guidance changes. When USDA, FDA, or CDC updates a recommendation — a temperature, a storage time, a labeling rule — we update the affected pages within the quarter, mark them as revised, and move their next re-review date up.

Our correction log

  • 2026-06-01 — Initial audit. All Golden Batch pages re-reviewed against current USDA FoodKeeper guidance after publication. No factual changes required.
